Wyberton Parish Council meeting

The next meeting of Wyberton Parish council will be on Tuesday 15th May at the Parish Hall on London Road at 7.00pm
Of interest to residents of Tytton Lane Easy may be the Planning Application  B/12/0063 - Construction of 28 dwellings adjacent to 34 TLE, which will be considered by the council.
All members of the public are welcome.

Missing road name

Congratulations to Boston Borough Council on the speedy replacement of the London Road name plate at the junction with Tytton Lane.

The sign must have been hit by a vehicle and was left with two bent and dangerous metal poles sticking out a different angles.
It was replaced within three weeks of my reporting it, in the past it has taken months so well done to that department.

Wyberton clean-up

Well done to the Borough and Parish Cllrs along with members of the public (young and not so young) who turned on Saturday 12th May to litterpick around Saundergate Lane & Park Causeway, Clarke Court, Cavendish Drive and the A16 underpass.
No money found this time but the largest item was a water fire extinguisher on Saundergate Lane East.
There will be another litterpick next Sat 19th May starting at 10.00am at the Spar.

Wyberton Parish Patrol

Did one of my regular monthly patrols last night checking the streetlights and illuminated signs.
Pleased to report only two streetlights out in Wyberton, one on Bankside and one about to go(showing very dim) on Causeway East along with five illuminated road signs, all reported to LCC via their website.
If you notice any out, please feel free to let me know and I will report it for you.
Also nice to see the A16 pedestrian underpass has been swept clean, all lights are on and just waiting for the graffiti to be removed which I asked for last month.

Wyberton Neighbourhood Police Panel

At tonight’s Wyberton Neighbourhood Police Panel:

PARKING:

The issue of yellow lines at the junction of Saundergate Lane and Causeway is still ongoing; Lincolnshire CC Highways are awaiting the transfer of parking enforcement from the Police to Boston BC before they extend the double yellows around this dangerous junction.

Hopefully the offending vehicles can then be moved on.

CARS FOR SALE:

The problem of cars for sale at junctions in the village was raised and efforts are being made to stop Wyberton becoming like High Street Garage.

ANTI SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR:

Boy racers beware, your noisy antics at the weekends in Wyberton Sports and Social Club are under police scrutiny and plans are being looked at for a speed hump to curtail causing disturbance to the Orchards and damage to cars and the club from flying gravel.

THEFT:

Lastly, all petrol vehicle owners, especially high 4WD motors, are warned that there has been a spate of catalytic convertor thefts in the parish.

It takes thieves a couple of minutes to cut out the box from the exhaust system and sell on the platinum inside them.

The next step will be an application for anemometer to record the wind speed at the landfill site for up to two years, this we  can formally object to!

Wyberts Lane

How sad to see Wyberts Lane used as a dumping ground and what a waste of rates having to clean it up.
Full credit to the troops at Fen Road and their leader, George Bernard, for tackling these illegal dumpings, I reported this one on Sunday (1st March) afternoon and by Monday 2nd) they had got started on removing the rubbish.

Fen Road is one dept of the Council I feel give excellent value for money!

Dear resident
You may not be aware of plans to build a 295ft tall wind turbine (higher than the Stump!) at Wyberton landfill site.
This monster will cause noise, light flicker, be a visual disaster for this area and that is just in operation, what about the construction phase with abnormal loads, dust and vibration.
It will dominate the landscape and be visible from eighteen miles away.
I am starting a campaign against this visual vandalism of Wyberton by contacting all interested parties such as the RSPB, RAF, Macmillan Way, local industries and most importantly residents.
The plans at present are at what is called ‘Scoping Opinion’ and cannot be formally objected to; however you can make comments via Boston Borough Council website at:

Fuel panic

Well done Cameron and Maud
This comedy double act advised the nation to "Keep topped up" and "Store it in Jerrycans", but "Do not queue or panic buy" was added to show a real grasp of the situation, how about “Keep Calm and Carry On” oh sorry this is a Carry On.
This pair have spooked the already jittery motorist into causing a shortage but then you must remember this pair do not have to fill up the ministerial limo!

Wyberton car sale

At last!
The Blue Mazda blocking the view from Parthian Avenue to London Road has gone but as LCC Highways and the Police have not responded to my requests for help in getting it done, it could be it just got sold.
Many thanks to Boston BC who did reply and tried to help along with the support I got from some Wyberton Parish Cllrs.

Wyberton wind turbine

NOWT NO Wyberton Turbine

Below is the planning application for a wind turbine in Wyberton.
The height from the blade tip when horizontal will be....295 ft, the Stump is only 272ft

Question: Why build a turbine on a landfill site that could close in the next few years due to the approved LCC Waste Transfer Centre?
Answer: Could it be the start of many?

We cannot let this happen and blight the Wyberton landscape in order to make money for a company based in Cheshire?

Wyberton car sales!

Many thanks to the local police here in Wyberton for removing the un-insured vehicle that was for sale on the grassed area at the top of Saundergate Lane/London Road junction this week.
No sooner than one goes but another appears.
I do not wish to see our village become like the High Street Garage area...an open air car showroom.
I am chasing up the various agencies, Police, Highways, Boston Borough Council to get someone to remove this obstruction for cars turning right from Parthian Avenue before there is an accident.

Wyberton bus stop madness

At the last (Tue 20th March) Wyberton Parish Council meeting the economic madness of Lincolnshire County Council Transportation Group was exposed when it was pointed out that their wish to install a bus stop, to serve Delfield Road, on the opposite side of London Road was in an area of half a mile being already served by six stops, three of which have shelters.
Further LCC claim the Parish Council approved this, the Council have evidence to show that this is not the case and that LCC have got the location totally wrong.
